Look for the care label under a seat cushion. W means water-based cleaning is fine, S means solvent only, WS means either, and X means vacuum only. Mr Expert cleans sofas from £35 for an armchair, £60 for a 2-seater, £70 for a 3-seater and £100 for a corner sofa.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| W | Water-based cleaning products are suitable. |
| S | Use a solvent-based cleaner only. Do not use water. |
| WS | Either water-based or solvent-based cleaning is suitable. |
| X | Vacuum or brush only. Do not use any liquid. |
Check under the seat cushions, along the seam at the back or underneath the sofa. If you cannot find a label, tell us the fabric and we will check it before we start.
We check the fabric and explain what is suitable before we start, and we clean in your home using biodegradable, non-toxic products.

No. The codes are for fabric upholstery. Leather needs its own care.
It depends on the fabric and airflow. Good ventilation helps it dry sooner.
