After hot water extraction, carpets are typically dry in 2 to 3 hours. Thick or heavily soiled carpet, cold damp weather and poor airflow can make it longer. Open a window or run a fan, and keep foot traffic off the carpet until it feels dry.
Press a clean white cloth or a sheet of kitchen paper firmly onto the carpet. If it picks up no moisture, the carpet is dry. A slightly damp smell can appear while a carpet dries and it fades as the air moves through the room.
We use hot water extraction with biodegradable, non-toxic products, groom the pile so it dries evenly, and explain how to ventilate the room before we leave. If you are unsure whether your carpet is dry, call us on 07920 366 062 and we will advise.
Our carpet cleaning starts from £45 for one room (up to 12m²), with a minimum spend of £65 per visit and no VAT added. See the full price list or read about our carpet cleaning service.
It is best to stay off it until it feels dry. If you need to cross it sooner, wear clean socks, not outdoor shoes.
Wait until the carpet is dry to the touch. If you cannot wait, put foil or plastic pads under the furniture legs.
A slight damp smell can appear while it dries. Good airflow clears it as the carpet dries.
