Carpet and Rug Cleaning — Your Questions Answered

We get a lot of the same questions before customers book — prices, drying times, whether our products are safe, and which areas we cover. We have answered them all here. If your question is not listed, call us on 07920 366062 or send a WhatsApp — we are happy to help.

Carpet Cleaning Questions

Our residential carpet cleaning starts from £45. The exact price depends on the size of the room and the condition of the carpet. Two rooms are £85 and three rooms are £120. Stairs, hallway and landing together are £75. There is a £65 minimum spend per visit.

We always give you a clear, fixed quote before we start. There are no hidden fees and no extras added on the day. Call 07920 366062 or WhatsApp us for a free quote in minutes.

Most carpets are fully dry within 2 to 3 hours. Thicker carpets, or those cleaned in colder, more humid conditions, may take a little longer — up to 4 hours in some cases.

The best thing you can do after we finish is open the windows and keep the heating on at a low setting. Good airflow dramatically speeds up drying time. You can walk on the carpet in clean socks almost immediately after we finish — just avoid outdoor shoes and heavy furniture until it is completely dry.

Yes. All our cleaning solutions are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and completely safe for children and pets of all kinds — including dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals. We never use bleach or harsh industrial chemicals.

If you have any specific concerns about a particular product or allergen, call us before booking and we will confirm exactly what we plan to use.

For most households, once a year is sufficient. Homes with pets, young children, or anyone with allergies or asthma benefit from a professional clean every 6 months — not just because carpets look better, but because they genuinely are cleaner at a microbial level. Regular vacuuming removes surface debris, but only hot water extraction removes the bacteria, dust mites, and allergens that build up deep in the fibres.

Hot water extraction — sometimes called steam cleaning — is a deep-cleaning method where we inject a solution of hot water and a cleaning agent deep into the carpet fibres under pressure, then immediately extract it along with the dissolved dirt, bacteria, grease, and allergens.

It is the cleaning method recommended by most carpet manufacturers and is considered the industry standard for residential and commercial carpet deep cleaning.

Most stains respond well to professional treatment, particularly fresh ones. Very old stains, stains that have been heat-set, or stains previously treated with the wrong product can be more difficult. In some cases these will lighten significantly but may not fully disappear.

We will always give you an honest assessment before we start. If we think a stain is unlikely to come out fully, we will tell you that upfront rather than take your money and leave you disappointed.

Yes. Surface sprays and deodorisers mask the smell temporarily — they do not remove the source. We use enzymatic pre-treatments that break down the odour-causing compounds at a molecular level before the deep extraction clean. This removes the smell from the carpet rather than covering it.

In most cases a single treatment is sufficient. For very heavily soiled areas, a second treatment may be recommended.

Please move any small items such as ornaments, lamps, and side tables. For larger pieces of furniture — sofas, beds, wardrobes — we can either work around them or move them carefully with your permission. We will discuss this with you when we arrive.

Pricing and Booking

The fastest way is to call us on 07920 366062 or send a WhatsApp message. If you send a photo of the area and tell us your postcode, we can usually give you a fixed price within a couple of minutes. No forms, no surveys, no waiting around.

In most cases we can book within the same week. For urgent cleans — end of tenancy, a pre-sale tidy-up, or an emergency — call us directly on 07920 366062 and we will check our next available slot straight away.

Our minimum spend per visit is £65. This covers travel, equipment setup, and a single small area clean such as a hallway or landing.

We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT added on top — the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

If stain treatment is part of a full carpet clean, it is included in the price. If you only need a specific stain treated without a full clean, a standalone stain and odour visit is £70, and pet urine or severe odour treatment is £85. Added to a clean you have already booked, spot and stain treatment is £25.

We accept bank transfer and cash. We do not currently accept card payments on the day, though we are happy to issue an invoice for commercial jobs.

You do not have to be present, but someone needs to be available to let us in unless other access arrangements have been made in advance. We’re fully insured, so you are covered whether you are in or out.

In some cases, yes — subject to availability. Call us on 07920 366062 first thing in the morning and we will let you know if we have a slot that day. For guaranteed same-week bookings, WhatsApp us and we will confirm availability within the hour.

Rug and Upholstery Cleaning Questions

Yes. Wool, Persian, and oriental rugs require a different approach to synthetic carpets — they need a gentler, lower-moisture method and fabric-safe, colour-safe solutions. We inspect every rug before starting and confirm the best cleaning method for that specific fibre type. Hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs are handled with particular care.

Yes. Before we start we test a small hidden area of the sofa to confirm the fabric responds safely to the cleaning solution. We use colour-safe, fabric-safe products throughout. For leather sofas we use specialist leather-safe products that clean and condition without drying or cracking the surface.

Most fabric sofas are dry within 2 to 4 hours. Leather sofas dry much faster — usually within 30 to 60 minutes. We will advise you on the expected drying time for your specific sofa before we leave.

For quality rugs — wool, Persian, oriental, or any hand-woven rug — professional cleaning is genuinely worth it. Home washing risks shrinkage, colour bleeding, and backing damage. Professional cleaning removes deep-seated dirt safely, extends the life of the rug, and restores its appearance in a way that domestic methods simply cannot match.

A professionally cleaned mattress is typically dry within 2 to 4 hours. We recommend propping it against a wall with a window open to maximise airflow and speed up drying.

Yes. We use deodorising treatments as part of our standard sofa and mattress cleaning process. For persistent odours — particularly pet-related — we use an enzymatic pre-treatment that breaks down the odour source rather than masking it.

End-of-Tenancy Cleaning Questions

In most cases, yes — provided the carpets are cleaned to a professional standard that meets your letting agent’s requirements. We carry out a thorough hot water extraction clean and can provide a certificate of cleaning on request, which is what most letting agents and landlords ask for at check-out.

We work with tenants across Berkshire regularly on end-of-tenancy cleans and most report getting their full deposit returned after the clean.

Prices start from £95 for a one-bedroom property, £140 for a two-bedroom and £190 for a three-bedroom. We always give you a fixed quote before we start.

We can usually accommodate end-of-tenancy bookings within the same week. If you have a tight deadline, call us on 07920 366062 as soon as possible and we will do our best to fit you in. The earlier you call, the more options we have.

You do not have to be present, but access needs to be arranged. Many tenants arrange for a key drop or ask their landlord or letting agent to provide access. We are happy to work with whatever access arrangement suits the situation.
